THE HOLY GAME World Premiere Announced on CRAVE in Canada & Gravitas in the US

VANCOUVER / TORONTO — Hodgee Films announced today the world premiere of THE HOLY GAME, the latest documentary film from director Brent Hodge (I Am Chris Farley, Freaks and Geeks: The Documentary). THE HOLY GAME launches on CRAVE in Canada on June 28, 2021 and is being launched by Gravitas in the US and worldwide. Gravitas announced their acquisition of the film in Deadline and the film is slated for Digital and Cable on Demand Release on June 29, 2021. The film is co-directed by Chris Kelly (The Slowest Show, This Is That) and was shot in Rome, Portugal and locations across the US.

THE HOLY GAME offers an exclusive look at an officially sanctioned Vatican soccer tournament for priests. Beyond the Vatican walls, there is a soccer championship like no other in which young priests in seminary from around the world gather to play in the Clericus Cup. The film explores religion, sport, and tradition, and examines why people around the world still sacrifice so much to become a priest.

Director Brent Hodge is a Canadian filmmaker who has seen success around the globe in the documentary world with feature films including The Pistol Shrimps, Freaks and Geeks: The Documentary, Who Let the Dogs Out, A Brony Tale and many more.
