DIPLO AND BORN DIRTY UNVEIL “SAMBA SUJO”
FIRST DIPLO RELEASE ON
NEW HOUSE LABEL HIGHER GROUND
Diplo and French dance star Born Dirty unveil their first ever collaboration, “Samba Sujo” today—listen here.
The release is the first from Diplo on new label Higher Ground, an imprint of Mad Decent which launched in August and is focused on house tracks and collaborations from established acts and up-and-comers alike.
The track follows several Higher Ground releases including a double-single by Brooklyn-based house duo Walker & Royce titled “Rave Grave” and Portuguese/Angolan producer DJEFF “Time & Freedom.”
In recent months Diplo has released country collaborations under his Thomas Wesley moniker with Jonas Brothers and Morgan Wallen, the latter of which has been recently certified Gold. As well as Major Lazer’s Khalid collaboration “Trigger,” featured on the soundtrack for blockbuster videogame Death Stranding, “Que Calor” featuring J Balvin and El Alfa and “Evapora” with Brazilian star IZA and Ciara.
Diplo, born Thomas Wesley Pentz, is one of the most dynamic forces in music today. In addition to being a founding member of the now legendary Major Lazer, LSD with Sia and Labrinth—which has tallied more than a billion streams to date and released a full album earlier this year, Diplo is also a member of Silk City with Mark Ronson—whose “Electricity” with Dua Lipa topped charts worldwide and won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording. As the world’s most in-demand producer, Diplo has worked with artists as disparate as Beyoncé, Madonna, Robyn, M.I.A., Bad Bunny and Turnstile. He continues to tour the world over.
