Chris Mann Dominates and Unites The Global Internet with Hilarious Parodies

CHRIS MANN DOMINATES AND UNITES THE GLOBAL INTERNET WITH HILARIOUS PARODIES AND BY THANKING ALL FRONTLINE WORKERS WITH SONG “THANK U FRONTLINE”

(New York, NY – April 3rd, 2020) – Singer, Songwriter, Chris Mann, has been quarantined in his Los  Angeles home, just like the rest of the world. With his concert tour having been cancelled due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, he wasn’t sure what to do with his energy, creativity and music. So he took his frustrations and fears out on a hysterical musical parody of “My Sharona” by The Knack, aptly titled “My Corona.” He recorded the song and shot a music video using an iPhone in his bathroom and posted it on Facebook—all during his toddler’s nap. The video immediately went viral with over 26 million views and 600,000 shares on Facebook and Youtube in a matter of days. The response across the world was unanimous–people need to laugh right now.

Mann quickly followed up “My Corona” with other viral parody smashes such as ‘Stay Home Vogue’ set to Madonna’s hit ‘Vogue,’ a play on Adele’s ‘Hello,’ ‘Hello (from the Inside)’ and most importantly ‘Thank U Frontline’ a heartfelt new take on Alanis Morissette’s song ‘Thank U,’ praising the frontline heroes helping us all through this pandemic. His first three parody videos all trended on Youtube’s top videos and have racked up nearly 50 million views and have been shared nearly one million times by viewers all across the globe.

The most incredible story of Chris Mann’s videos is the community of support that has formed within the hundreds of thousands of user comments. From commiserating on shared isolation stress and laughing together at Mann’s antics, to supporting, thanking and praising each other for working through this dark time, the overwhelmingly positive reaction is almost unheard of in this day and age. The world is connecting through Mann’s humor, music and dialogue.

Setting humor to the side, Mann is using his growing platform to send a huge THANK U to the frontline workers and heroes helping us through this pandemic.  Set to the Alanis Morissette hit of the same name, Mann sings “Thank you doctors, thank you nurses, thanks for working the front line.” Mann crowdsourced the emotional video montage asking his fans to submit videos and photos of their lives during the Covid-19 crisis. The result is a beautiful homage to our doctors, nurses, firefighters, scientists, pharmacists, grocery store clerks, janitors, postal workers, teachers and volunteers.

The international reaction to Mann’s videos show that music can help us all in a time of need. Chris Mann has become the voice of the moment—a role he isn’t taking lightly. Aside from giving people a much needed laugh during this dark time, he also encourages fans to reflect on all that matters most–the ones we love.

In an effort to be socially responsible while social distancing, Chris has announced he will donate proceeds from “My Corona” to charities helping communities get through this pandemic.
