Premiere Engagement of BIRDS WITHOUT FEATHERS

Wendy McColm’s Quirky, Austere Drama Showcases Lives of Six Peculiar Characters in Emotional Crisis

Downtown Independent Cinema, September 19th-25th

“…there’s a universal truth behind its eccentricities that makes it a compelling watch…McColm has something to say, and she says it clearly.” – Screen Anarchy

Premiere of BIRDS WITHOUT FEATHERS from filmmaking auteur Wendy McColm in Los Angeles. The film showcases the desperate need for human interaction in an irrational world where six emotionally damaged individuals risk self-respect and shed their disillusionment in a last grasp for happiness. In a cruel-world, darkly absurd comedy populated by struggling Instagram stars, Russian cowboys and self-help gurus, lives collide and interact in astounding ways. Over the course of a weekend, they fight, get lunch with the wrong Jeff Goldblum, perform hoedowns, ruin life milestones, and challenge each other’s sense of self-worth. Told through hazy, nostalgia-inducing vignettes, characters are pushed to their personal limits in ways that alternate between romantic and cruel in their desperate attempts to see each other and be seen.
